I have so many things to say about Bourbon Steak I don’t know where to start! Actually that’s a lie, I know exactly where I will start. I will start with the trio of French Fries that are served to each table dining in the main dining room upon sitting down. And did I mention they are complimentary and cooked in a dedicated gluten-free fryer??? Fear not (gluten-free) bread basket lovers… gluten-free bread is also served to kick off your meal!…

Everything from the service to the food at Bourbon Steak is outstanding, and it is no wonder why Bourbon is one of Georgetown’s most sought out restaurants. To start, after you devour the French Fries and GF Bread, I highly recommend you order the Pickled Shrimp and Grilled Octopus. The shrimp are large and SO flavorful, and the octopus surpassed my very high standards. The combination of sausage, cucumber, and fried artichoke that it was served with was perfect. The tuna and beef tartar’s are also incredibly popular for appetizers! For my main, I ordered the Arctic Char. The big piece of fish was so flavorful and cooked just right, and it paired very well with the Roasted Brussels Sprouts I ordered as a side. But enough about the fish; Bourbon is all about the steak!! Bourbon is famous for their selections of steak- they have everything from the best Japanese Wagyu to rib-eye, NY strip, venison and more! I highly recommend the Wagyu beef trio. That way you don’t have to settle for just one type of steak! I love that the menu breaks the steak cuts down into categories. For example, the menu tells you exactly which cuts are from corn-fed animals versus grass-fed! This is super important info!!

Gluten is hard to come by at Bourbon, adding to why this restaurant is a must-visit for all gluten-free diners! The fries and other fried items are cooked in a dedicated gluten-free fryer, and the dishes that do contain gluten can easily be made gluten-free. For example, the Pickled Shrimp dish mentioned above is served with a seed cracker that you can easily ask to have removed, and gluten is typically only on the menu in the form of an add-on or garnish!
