Poke-Poke is known for their Hawaiian-style Poke Bowls. Located right on Venice Beach, Poke-Poke is my only go-to food destination on the boardwalk, which is crowded with fast food vendors. P-P is nothing more than a small kitchen with an ordering window, but it has already gained notoriety as the first Poke deli in LA, and some would say the best!…
Poke Bowls are a Hawaiian spin on tuna tar-tar, made with Ahi tuna. The bowls are made-to-order and the Ahi is fresh. The best part about Poke-Poke is that they are incredibly gluten-free friendly. Any of the five Poke Bowl flavors can be made gluten free by requesting that a GF Tamari sauce is used in place of regular soy sauce. Each bowl is made with GF brown or white rice, or you can have no rice at all. My favorite would have to be the Original, but loaded with toppings like kale, avocado, and macadamia nuts. The Poke bowls range in prices depending on size, but $7-14 is not a bad deal for a bowl of fresh, high-grade, raw fish! Poke-Poke also serves a refreshing acai bowl made with gluten-free hemp granola!
Poke-Poke’s menu is simple and small, and what they lack in options, they make up for in expertise. If you want a quick taste of authentic Hawaiian cuisine right on the beach then look no further. The food is affordable, fresh, GF friendly, and delicious!
