So here's what we think...

The BEST frozen margarita in NYC. Whether I hit the midtown location for lunch with clients, the Flatiron location with my family, or the SoHo and Meatpacking spot with friends, Dos Caminos never fails to disappoint. I once thought of Dos as a dinner only spot, until I went for Brunch and saw all brunch items were accompanied with a complimentary margarita. If I wasn’t sold before, this sealed the deal. Mexican restaurants are ALMOST as bad as Italian restaurants when it comes to nobread selections, but the brunch/lunch menu also serves salads and even had an omelet. FAVORITE SALAD: Dos Caminos chicken cobb salad- grilled chicken breast, tomato, avocado, chorizo, corn, onion, queso fresco, cilantro-basil vinaigrette (sans queso for me!) Hearty portion AND healthy… a rare find when you go for Mexican….

As most people know, nothing makes me happier than margaritas, guacamole, and sweet potato fries, and Dos Caminos has all three on the menu. For all the guacamole lovers like me out there, the corn chips at Dos Caminos are fried, YET they are fried separately to ensure they are gluten free. You can also ask for your guac to be accompanied by veggies (I know that’s not as fun, but hey, it works). MOST NOTABLE about Dos Caminos is that they have one of the most food-allergy knowledgeable staffs I have ever experienced. Almost everything on their menu can be prepared gluten-free! The kitchen even puts a label on your plate to indicate a food allergy, so there is no mix up.

On my first trip to Dos back in the day when the term ‘gluten free’ was still foreign to the world, I told my server I was gluten-free and he shockingly knew what I meant. He stopped me as I ordered my chicken entrée, as the chicken was prepared in a marinade that had gluten. The waiter pointed out several entrees and orders I could have, including all the tacos as they can be made with a corn shell. This experience wasn’t a one-off occasion. I have had this same experience EACH time I go to a Dos restaurant, and I’ve heard of others who have had the same experience with Dos staff. FIVE STARS for service, margaritas, and guac! The food is delicious and you are guaranteed a great dining experience here at Dos.
