Elizabeth’s Neighborhood Table, located on the Upper West Side is the quintessential UWS restaurant. It is quaint and homey, and the food is described as “thoughtful American comfort food.” For all you Friend of a Farmer fans out there, this restaurant is for you! Comfort food and gluten free typically don’t go hand in hand, but delicious omelettes, burgers, and more are gluten free at this homey restaurant, and one trip to the UWS spot will leave you wanting to venture back for more. Liz Milner, owner of Elizabeth’s, comments that every dish on their menu is made from the freshest, most local and natural whole ingredients, and she and her team work directly with farms and co-ops to source organic produce!…
All entrees and apps at Elizabeth’s are gluten free except for the fried chicken, fish and chips, meatloaf, tempura, onion rings, world of wings, and crab cakes. Yes a fried chicken sounds nice, but the menu at Elizabeth’s is extensive and there are plenty of dishes for the nobread crowd to choose from! The pan seared chicken, roasted pork chop, BBQ baby back ribs, and pan-seared salmon are all nobread approved and look amazing. The burgers at Elizabeth’s are by far the most popular order. The Betty’s Burger Bar, as it is called, serves burgers of all varieties, and ALL burgers are gluten free when you ask for your burger with a gluten free bun! Even the veggie burger is gluten free! Elizabeth’s is popular at brunch, too, and I recommend any of the salads, vegetable omelette, or lumberjack omelette notoast (depending on what kind of night you had before).
Not only does Elizabeth’s Neighborhood Table pride themselves on their homey yet healthy food, but also on their several gluten free desserts and nobread approved cocktails. Liz and her team are working on adding a gluten free beer to the bar, and they already feature a quinoa vodka and maple milk vodka. With so many delicious, nobread approved comfort food options and cocktails, this restaurant is worth the trip to the Upper West Side!
