So here's what we think...

If you’re like me and love restaurants where the majority of food dishes are inherently gluten free and you don’t feel like pestering the waitstaff with tons of questions, then Spring Street Natural is a spot for you. Conveniently located right off the Spring Street subway stop on the 6 sits SoHo’s healthy eatery serving delicious organic and natural meals at affordable prices. As they state on their website, their menu consists of a “wide range of choices from completely vegan macrobiotic plates to sandwiches, salads, and innovative entrees with vegetarian, seafood and poultry choices.” Without a doubt, I know I’m in for a great nobread experience any time I come here…

My go-to orders at Spring Street Natural are the organic chickpea hummus (nopita), the pan roasted free-range chicken served with sauteed greens of the day and sweet potato, the kale salad with avocado, hazelnuts and chickpeas, the southwestern grilled organic chicken salad, the steamed organic vegetables, the hanger steak, and the roasted organic salmon served on a cucumber salad. The salmon is delicious and I highly recommend it but its pairing and dressing changes each season. Currently the salmon is “everything crusted” and NOT GF- so be sure to check how it is prepared when you go! It is refreshing to go to a restaurant and trust that all food is prepared with pure and all natural ingredients!  Most importantly, there are no additional additives or preservatives used in any of the entrees. Although some entrees on the menu might seem TOO simple and maybe even a bit plain, I can without a doubt say every dish I have had at SSN is very flavorful! Pure and tasty?? Rare!

All items on the menu at Spring Street Natural can be made gluten free or vegan friendly. The same goes for brunch entrees, too, and I highly recommend any of the omelettes or a benedict with notoast. Spring Street Natural is one of the EASIEST restaurants in New York City to be nobread at and best of all, there’s no such thing as unhealthy “over-eating” here. Spring Street Natural is casual and the perfect place to catch up with friends over a healthy meal!
