So here's what we think...

Angelini Osteria, located in Fairfax, is the quintessential Los Angeles restaurant. The restaurant serves authentic Italian cuisine in an adorably small, cozy space, making you feel as though you are dining in your Italian relatives’ living room. Delicious food and incredibly kind staff and management has made Angelini a staple restaurant in the LA dining scene, and one visit to the restaurant had me in love…

All it took was one bite of Angelini’s popular braised baby artichokes for me to know that I was in for an incredible meal. The artichokes were cooked with olive oil and onions, and they were perfectly soft and amazingly flavorful. For my main course, I was completely torn between countless delicious looking (and naturally gluten free) options. The solution? Order them all. I opted for the sauteed scallops on top of mushrooms dressed with aged balsamic, the grilled calamari with arugula, the lobster salad with honey crisp apple, and the tuna tartar nocrostini. All were incredible… the kind of incredible words don’t do justice to! The calamari was prepared with breadcrumbs, so make sure you ask for your calamari nobread. The same goes for the popular dover sole. The fish was dusted with flour; however, the restaurant was happy to accommodate all diners and all dietary restrictions, and the gluten in those dishes was easily withheld. Angelini also serves gluten free pasta, and all of the pastas can be prepared gluten free except for the lasagna. Chef Angelini recently introduced his own hand-crafted gluten free pastas at the restaurant too! I tried the gluten free ravioli, and as expected, it was incredible.

Angelini Osteria is one of the best meals I have had in Los Angeles, and I will absolutely be back soon. The lamb chops is screaming my name, as is the sliced swordfish with pistachios. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the dessert! Angelini offers a large selection of gluten free desserts; mascarpone, affogato al caffe, and panna cotta just to name a few! Thank you all at Angelini for an incredible dining experience!
