So here's what we think...

Mama Shelter restaurant opened 4 months ago, and now that I’ve been, I’m SHOCKED it took me 4 months to give it a try! I’m always looking for restaurants with an awesome ambiance and a cool scene, and I’m never one to shy away from a rooftop bar, so Mama Shelter pretty much has it all. Located in Hollywood, this hotspot serves gluten-friendly cuisine, and is totally where I will be hosting my Girls’ Night Outs from now on!…

First, I have to talk about how amazing the staff is. From finding us the best table on the roof and ensuring we were having a delicious meal every step of the way, to helping my friends and I take the PERFECT Instagram picture, the staff did it all with smiles and enthusiasm. The menu at Mama Shelter is super healthy, too, which I was so excited to see given it is bikini season! To start, I highly recommend ordering the hummus tasting with crudite instead of pita. We went with the avocado, cauliflower, and carrot hummus, and the dips were AMAZING. The carrot hummus with crispy brussels sprouts was my favorite! Next up was the cauliflower salad with pomegranate and mint. This chilled cauliflower salad is absolutely incredible and another must order. To round out the salad dishes, I recommend the melon salad for something light and refreshing! From the list of mains, the grilled salmon and 28-day dry aged delmonico were gluten-free, and we went with the salmon, because let’s be real- I order salmon pretty much wherever I go! The dish was delicious, and paired with a sprouted grain and spinach side which was equally as amazing. The best part about this rooftop menu was that “GF” was noted next to all gluten-free items, making ordering super easy!

It’s currently dineLA week here in Los Angeles, and although the menu is only served inside, it is totally worth checking out! Gluten-free options include the scallops and market salad from the appetizers, and the beef and brock and striped bass from the mains! Last item to note- the Mama Shelter apparel the staff wears is pretty awesome, and I’ve already requested a few T-Shirts! Mama Shelter is a total gem. With great food and an even cooler vibe, I will absolutely be back in no time!
