So here's what we think...

I’ve heard about Siggy’s Good Food for months now, and given its proximity to my apartment (literally around the corner) I can’t believe this week was my first time trying it out. Tucked away on Elizabeth Street just off of Houston, Siggy’s is a cute, cool restaurant with an extensive list of healthy foods. They describe their food as “homestyle comfort food,” made from 100% organic ingredients and prepared fresh daily. Better yet, the menu is huge and there is nothing I love more than a restaurant that has a lot of choices that suit my nobread life…

Siggy’s makes ordering extremely easy for the nobread and vegan crowd, as all items on the menu are noted as GF and/or vegan. I was in the mood for some comfort food, so I ordered the thyme sage roasted chicken breast served with whole grain brown rice and the grilled artichokes. The all-natural chicken is marinated in fresh herbs and pan seared in olive oil and onions and it was extremely flavorful! We also ordered a side of the roasted sweet potatoes. I tried to resist the extra carbs but they looked so good on other diner’s plates. My friend ordered the turkey burger on greens and said it was the best turkey burger he had ever had. If you are in the mood for something more filling, GF rolls ARE available, so you can order your sandwich with BREAD if you please. There are many more items I would have loved to order; all the salads, the quinoa spinach cakes, the many sautéed vegetables and the gluten free chocolate chip cookie (I noticed it on my way out) just to name a few.

I’m glad that I discovered this gem I will definitely be back soon… especially for the organic chicken vegetable soup on a cold day. I should mention that after 5pm there are dinner specials that change daily and the wild king salmon with artichokes and the almond coconut chicken milanese specials sound amazing. Also, I noticed many people going to the bar at Siggy’s and ordering juices, smoothies and food to go. I’m not a juice girl, but this is the perfect grab and go option for people who are. Oh and I can’t forget, Siggy’s has a second location in Brooklyn Heights that I hear is just as delicious and just as cute, too!
