Not only does The Sosta offer two gluten-free pasta types (GF pasta and zoodles!), but the team is super aware of gluten allergies, which was SO nice to see. For instance, the Manager told me right away that all gluten-free pasta is cooked in separate boiling pots, away from the gluten-filled pasta pots to ensure that there is no cross contamination. All pastas can be made gluten-free except for the Vodka Sauce Pasta. This is because the vodka used isn’t from a dedicated gluten-free vodka brand and therefore they don’t recommend gluten-free people order it. My friend and I ordered enough food to feed a family of 5, and we devoured everything! For pasta, we chose the Classic Pomodoro with gluten-free pasta and the Pesto Pasta with zoodles! Pesto pasta is my absolute favorite, and the zoodles had just the right ratio of chew to crunch. We also ordered the Verde salad with Sicilian Tuna, cannellini beans, radicchio, grape tomato, parsley, basil, and tomato so we could have our healthy fix, and a few side orders. The side orders at The Sosta are amazing and should NOT be overlooked! The cauliflower cooked in a chili vinaigrette was amazing, and the carrot fries were addicting!
Although the cafe doesn’t have any gluten-free bread for the sandwiches, we give The Sosta 5 stars for their gluten-awareness and offerings, and all-around delicious food! I highly recommend checking this NoLiTa hotspot out!
