So here's what we think...

Ambar offers a $35 unlimited plates brunch that is sure to delight your eyes as much as your stomach. Their colorful food is fresh and flavorful. When I first looked at their menu, I was nervous, as their six menu categories included: (1) starters, (2) pastries, (3) eggs, (4) open faced sandwiches, (5) flatbreads, and (6) sweets — it seemed as if I would only be able to order from the eggs category. The waiter quickly reassured me there would be a broader variety of options and he was not wrong. Ambar’s fun brunch drink menu steers away from the traditional mimosa, although they include traditional mimosas on their list as well! They also offer berry mimosas, cherry mimosas, peach bellinis, red wine punch, and the class Bloody Marys.

Brunch began with the Balkan Salad. The bright dish was refreshing, from the delicious veggies to the soothing vinaigrette. Next, we tried the Mushroom Pilav with eggs. This traditional Balkan dish includes root veggies, rice, cremini mushroom, and a poached egg. It had a strong mushroom flavor and the rice is heavy. This would be a great dish to share so you can save some room for your entree! The Cevapi and Egg was my favorite dish of the brunch! The house ground beef and veal kabobs were juicy and tasted incredible with the eggs.

A Balkan meal experience would not be complete without sampling some of the mouth watering spreads. The Beet tzatziki had a beautiful purple color and an incredible flavor. The beets added some extra sweetness to the traditional tzatziki.

The Applewood Bacon Omelette was done well, but my favorite part of this dish was the basil spinach sauce. It added some extra unique flavor that paired well with the omelette. This is another heavy dish that is great for sharing.

To end brunch, we tried the homemade gluten-free granola with fresh fruit and yogurt. These fresh and sweet flavors were the perfect way to end a delicious (and filling) meal!
