I’ve long heard about Georgetown Cupcake from my girlfriends who went to college at… yes, you guessed it… Georgetown! Originating in Washington D.C., Georgetown Cupcake is by far the most popular bakery in the area, serving cupcakes in a range of interesting and unique flavors. Not only are the cupcakes delicious, but they are beautiful, too, and make for the perfect host/hostess gift. Most importantly, Georgetown Cupcakes has gluten free options!…
The cupcakes are baked on-site daily, and the cupcakes are made in the kitchen right behind the counter, so you can watch the delicious creations come to life. I went to Georgetown Cupcake’s Back Bay location last week, and learned that one gluten free cupcake is offered each day, and gluten free flavors include lava fudge, chocolate salted caramel, strawberry lava fudge, chocolate birthday, and peanut butter fudge. Upon ordering my gluten free cupcake (peanut butter fudge), I was AMAZED at the care and attention that went into my GF order. The Georgetown Cupcake employee asked if my gluten request was due to an allergy, and when I said yes, she asked if I would like the pastry chefs to change their gloves to handle my order. I speak on behalf of everyone in the NOBREAD crowd when I say this type of service is incredibly appreciated by all of us, especially in bakeries where cross contamination is a HUGE concern!
My gluten free cupcake was delicious. Add on GC’s excellent service and dedication to gluten free dining, and I can guarantee it won’t be long before I’m back again. NOBREAD-ers, head to Georgetown Cupcake now!!
