Sweetgreen is one of Boston’s most popular salad bars. With locations in Back Bay, Fenway, Downtown, South End, and more, Sweetgreen is growing rapidly and establishing its presence throughout the city. You can take your salad to go or stay and sit in the shop’s casual-chic atmosphere. Their ingredients are local and organic and they put a lot of effort into sustainability. Bostonians are loving the concept, which is why Sweetgreen is heading to multiple other cities. If you go around lunchtime, be prepared to wait in a line that can stretch outside the door… it’s worth the wait, I promise! …
Sweetgreen has the typical salad bar layout; either choose a signature salad (like Rad Thai) or make your own from the selection of amazing bases and toppings. I love the kale ceasar- however basic it may sound. It’s gluten free and one of the best kale salads I have ever had. But if you want to design your own, you should be creative with greens or wild rice and add toppings like chilled citrus shrimp and parmesan crisps. Bonus: all dressings are gluten free! Unfortunately, the curry cauliflower + quinoa salad, Earth bowl, and hummus tahini salads are NOT gluten free, but with so may other incredible options, I don’t mind having to sit these few out.
I cannot wait to try the seasonal Winter specials and soups. To beat the lunch rush, I recommend placing your order through the website so you can skip the line when you pick up. To all out of town readers… check out Sweetgreen in California, DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland! It’s 100% worth your while!!
