A new Steakhouse has arrived in Boston… what else is new? With so many Steakhouses populating the area, it’s hard to stand out. But with its chic ambiance, unique take on classic American dishes, and a full gluten-free menu, Ocean Prime manages to do so! Ocean Prime has locations all around the United States, and can be found in cities ranging from Beverly Hills to Orlando. We had the opportunity to check out the Steakhouse’s Boston location this week, and we’re happy to report that it’s gluten-friendly, delicious, and guaranteed to have you leave feeling full….
As you may have guessed from its name, Ocean Prime is known for its seafood and steaks. To start, I highly recommend any of the raw appetizers and the Surf & Turf, which consists of sea scallops and slow braised short ribs. The dish is delicious and perfect to split with a fellow diner. At lunch, the restaurant has an extensive list of salads that all sound amazing and are super filling, given that each salad is served with a tasty protein on top. Although my friend and I went for lunch, we opted for entrees that can be found on the dinner menu as well. The Chilean Sea Bass with Whipped Potatoes and Champagne Truffle Sauce was pretty awesome, and the 8 oz Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly and super flavorful. We told our waiter that we planned on splitting everything, so he had our entrees served as half portions and on our own plates! Other gluten-free options I had my eye on included the Arctic Char with brussels sprouts, and Sea Scallops on parmesan risotto. Whatever you do, you MUST order several side dishes! We opted for the parmesan truffle fries (subject to cross-contamination in the fryer) and they were literally AMAZING. If you prefer to avoid cross- contamination, several variations of mashed potatoes and baked potatoes are listed on the gluten-free menu. We also ordered the roasted brussels sprouts (100% GF)– they are an absolute must-order!
Ocean Prime is definitely a restaurant that is ‘FTB’ (For The Boys). It is also the perfect destination for your next client lunch or dinner, or meal with the family before a show.
