Eveleigh, located on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood, is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. It has an amazing outdoor patio for those of you like me who enjoy a little outdoor dining action. The bar is great and the perfect place to grab a pre-meal drink, and the food is pretty amazing. For the New Yorkers reading this, Eveleigh is owned by the same guys behind Dudleys and Ruby’s in NoLita. I highly recommend everyone put Eveleigh on their must-try list if you haven’t been there already!…
The food at Eveleigh is local and farm to table, and everything tastes as fresh as it looks. The menu changes daily depending on which ingredients the Chefs select that day, but given the Chefs’ focus on sourcing only the best food and produce, the menu is very gluten-friendly. To start, you HAVE to order the truffle fries. The fries are some of the best in LA, and one of the most popular orders at the restaurant. Each time I’ve been to Eveleigh I have seen an order of these fries on just about every table. The fries are subject to cross contamination in the fryer, so if you are sensitive you’ll have to sit these out. On my last visit to Eveleigh, I ordered the baby artichokes with salt, lemon, and olive oil. The artichokes, too, were fried and subject to CC, but they were pretty amazing and I highly recommend ordering them. Brussels sprouts, when in season, are a staple on the Eveleigh menu although their accompaniments may change and they are another nobread approved option you have to try. For the seafood lovers out there, the grilled monterey squid is a gluten free top-pick, and I recently tried the Alaskan King salmon with delicata squash, thyme, and capers, and loved both! The famous Eveleigh burger is gluten free when you ask for nobread, and the jidori chicken and prime hanger steak are both gluten free and great options if you are in the mood for something a bit heavier.
Eveleigh is also a popular brunch spot, and the baked eggs and soft scrambled eggs are my go-to picks. One last thing to note about the restaurant: the waitstaff is incredibly friendly and fully understanding of food allergies and dietary restrictions. Each time I’ve been to the restaurant, my waiters haven’t had any issues going over the gluten free options on the menu, setting me up for a great dining experience. I can’t say enough good things about Eveleigh, and one meal at the hotspot and you’ll know why it’s one of my favorite places in LA!
