Comoncy prides themselves on their goal of bringing all types of people together so that they can share their “unique, colorful personalities”. This definitely holds true at the restaurant, given that they offer guests with all different dietary restrictions and preferences the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal together. Located in both Beverly Hills and Studio City, Comoncy is perfect for those who just want to stop by for a quick coffee and pastry on their way to work, and also for those looking to dine-in!…
After stepping in the front door, I was greeted with a giant bouquet of fresh yellow flowers to my left and smiles on the faces of the employees ahead. The restaurant is illuminated bright orange from their coffee cup to the ceiling, creating a positive environment that you won’t want to leave. The first item on the menu that caught my eye was the Gluten-Free Bagel with the choice of cream cheese or house made jam. This is the perfect “on the way to work” breakfast to pair with a latte or tea. The bagel, although gluten-free, tasted like a traditional bagel. It has been difficult for me to find a gluten-free bagel that even comes close to a gluten-filled one until I tried Comoncy’s! Comoncy’s main entrees are sandwiches and salads. All of these options can be made gluten-free, as sandwiches can be made on gluten-free bread and accommodations can be made to the salads! I ordered the Beverly Hills Club, which is one of the most popular sandwiches at the Beverly Hills location. The dijon mustard and apple smoked bacon are what made this sandwich unbelievable. The flavors blend together so nicely and the gluten-free bread, unlike most, is not hard or falling apart. I also ordered the Arugula salad topped with chicken breast, cherry tomatoes, long strips of fresh Parmesan and tossed in a lemon vinaigrette. The portion size is plenty.
Comoncy offers a filling, healthy, and refreshing lunch, and you will leave feeling satisfied… not bloated. If you are a gluten-free diner looking for a sandwich or bagel that doesn’t taste like cardboard, I definitely recommend visiting Comoncy! Their prices are reasonable and the service is quick, too. The patio, although small, was an intimate setting and perfect for a gluten-free lunch date. I will definitely be returning to Comoncy in the near future!
