I love Asian cuisine, but it’s still so difficult finding tasty, fresh Asian cuisine that is free of soy sauce and other gluten additives. But then I found Roku Sunset– an upscale Japanese and Sushi spot with a cool vibe and delicious food. Not only does Roku offer diverse options with something for everyone, but it also has gluten-free menu. Roku is also incredibly accommodating to people with gluten-allergies!…
I had the opportunity to go to Roku for lunch this week, and I was thrilled at how many options were on the gluten-free menu. To start, my friend and I ordered the Salmon Sashimi served with togarashi crust, avocado, and cilantro jalapeño salad. This dish had just the right amount of spice, and was super tasty. Next up was the octopus sashimi. As you can see from the menu, the sushi and sashimi is gluten-free, and they serve tamari (GF) soy sauce! The vegetable fried rice was pretty incredible, and the seasoning was so flavorful. Whenever something tastes SO delicious and flavorful, I have to confirm that it is, in fact, gluten-free, and at Roku I trusted that it was! The waitress assured me that they have excellent kitchen practices when they see a gluten-free order, and my dish was 100% GF. Roku is famous for their robata (skewers), and the wagyu skewer was amazing and SO tender! Next up, we ordered a gluten-free lobster roll and the Rainbow Roll. I rarely get to eat sushi, so this was a total treat.
I’m so pumped to experience Roku’s Teppanyaki menu next! The teppan grills offer a selection of teppanyaki offerings in addition to upscale seafood and vegetable dishes from the menu. And the best part? The WHOLE MENU is gluten-free! No cross-contamination worries here! Think Benihana, but way classier and top notch cuisine. Teppanyaki protein offerings range from shrimp and chicken to scallops and lobster! Sold.
