The idea of raw food can be a little daunting to some, but don’t let this deter you from checking out one of Los Angeles’ new trendy hotspots, or should I say not so ‘hot’spot? Wild Living Foods has an overwhelming (but equally delicious) raw menu ranging from wraps and salads to sushi rolls, and a vegan gelato bar that is out of this world.
If you are curious about what raw cuisine is, it simply means that the dishes have all been prepared under 118 degrees so that the ingredients keep all their nutrients and enzymes. This is important because it makes the food more nutrient dense and bio available for the body.
Whether you’re vegan, gluten-free or just looking to chow down on some delicious and healthy food, Wild Living Foods has it all. I insist you try the Basil Basil Pesto because who knew carb-less pasta (kelp noodles) could taste so incredibly heavenly?! Also a fan favorite was the Chile Relleno which was essentially an Instagram worthy burrito wrapped in a delicious coconut wrap making it the perfect gluten-free burrito. If you’re feeling a little ambitious, Wild Living Foods also has a complete salad bar for you to get creative at. We ordered one of the salads on the menu, the “Deep Creek” which consisted of spinach, avocado, bell pepper, cucumber, pumpkin seeds, kale chips, coco jersey, and real Italian dressing. This salad seemed so simple but it was so good! WLF also has some heated options including their quinoa bowls, and we indulged in the “Quinoa Earth” made with spinach, quinoa, and falafel. It’s not all the time that you see GF falafel! Last but absolutely not least, was the dessert, and you MUST check out the amazing gelato bar, raw cinnamon buns, smoothies and more.
Wild Living Foods’ goal is to leave you replenished, repaired and nourished in order to better your quality of life and spirit, and take it from me when I say I left fully satisfied (emphasis on the full part). The NOBREAD team absolutely loved our feast, and we will be returning very soon!
