Sea Fire Grill is one of the most underrated restaurant’s in Midtown. And thanks to the three years I spent taking clients to restaurants all around Midtown, I have very high expectations when it comes to dining in this area! The restaurant sits across the street from my other Midtown favorite, Avra, and between these two Seafood powerhouses and Lexington Brass on the corner, this area of Lexington Avenue is quite the corporate hotspot. The food at Sea Fire Grill is absolutely delicious, and given how NOBREAD-friendly seafood is, the menu is incredibly gluten friendly!…
A high-class seafood restaurant is my favorite kind of restaurant. Why? RARELY is there any cross contamination and seafood dishes are inherently gluten free! NOBREAD heaven! So what should you order? To start, I recommend the pan roasted scallops, the grilled prawns, tuna nicoise salad, and my favorite, the chilled lobster salad. The lobster salad is served with greens and avocado, and if you’re only in the mood for a light lunch, this is sufficient enough to be your meal. The sandwiches and burgers look great and you can have them if your order them nobread, but there are PLENTY of other options I suggest ordering instead. The organic salmon, wild striped bass, halibut, and swordfish are incredible. Furthermore, these entrees are huge and you will absolutely leave FULL! Lastly, I have to touch on the cornmeal crusted calamari. The cornmeal used IS gluten free; however, the calamari are fried in a shared fryer and subject to cross contamination.
I’m glad I discovered Sea Fire Grill when I did, and I’m so happy to see that it has come a long way since it arrived on the Midtown lunch scene. It is definitely one of the best seafood restaurants in New York City!
