Bluestone Lane Collective Cafe opened in the West Village in 2014 and fast became a neighborhood hotspot. So fast that they opened a second cafe in the West Village and another one on the Upper East Side, along with countless coffee shops throughout NYC. The Australian influenced cafe attracts crowds of eager brunchers hoping for a quick bite of their wholesome, natural fare and a taste of Bluestone’s popular coffee. Maybe it’s the countless nobread approved options, or the charming Australian staff, but Bluestone Lane has definitely become one of my go-to spots in NYC…
The best part about Bluestone Lane is how nobread friendly it is. The brunch menu is served all day, and everything on the menu looks amazing. The hot coconut quinoa porridge drizzled with warm blueberries and nut butter, the gluten-free banana bread, the morning bowl of quinoa with kale, avocado, cherry tomatoes, and more, and the baked eggs are ALL gluten-free and are incredibly popular amongst both the gluten-free and gluten-full crowds! If you’re like me and have stalked the Bluestone Lane instagram feed, and have drooled over all of the delicious looking, mouth watering toasts, you’re in luck! Bluestone carries gluten-free bread. Yes, that means that you, too, can enjoy the famous avocado smash and the Australian classic toast of avocado and vegemite. My go-to is the avocado toast on gluten-free bread, no feta, topped with a poached egg or smoked salmon!
Although I don’t live in the West Village, Bluestone Lane is totally part of my cafe routine. Bluestone continues to open up locations both in NYC and beyond, and I’m excited to see where they branch to next!
