OddFellows Ice Cream Co. is a an ice cream shop located in the East Village and Brooklyn. The ice cream is homemade using the freshest ingredients possible, and what’s better than homemade ice cream?? The ice cream is made at the Brooklyn Flagship location, and it is hormone-free and dairy additive-free! Recently, OddFellows Ice Cream Co. introduced several vegan ice cream flavors, in addition to the expansive list of creative dairy and sorbet flavors, at their Williamsburg location!…
The majority of flavors at OddFellows are gluten free, and rotating vegan flavors include Thai Iced Cream, Chocolate Chunk, Toasted Coconut Dark, as well as Chocolate and Coffee Crunch. The bases for the vegan ice creams are coconut milk or almond milk from Califia Farms. In addition, both OddFellows locations in Williamsburg and East Village offer daily rotating dairy-free sorbet flavors like Raspberry Pink Peppercorn sorbet, Grapefruit Jalapeño sorbet, and Ants on a Log sorbet (celery sorbet with chunks of peanut butter and raisins). The ice cream is naturally gluten free, and the only flavors containing gluten are those that include cookies, pretzels, or cake bits.
I recently went to the store’s East Village location, and although the vegan ice creams were not featured as one of the ten ice cream flavors of the day, pints of the vegan ice cream are kept in back, and the staff was happy to serve me some scoops! The vegan chocolate chunk (almond based) and the coconut chocolate chip (coconut based) are both delicious!
OddFellows Ice Cream Co. is the perfect place for both the dairy-full and dairy-free crowds! With something for everyone, it’s no wonder why the shop has become so popular. The East Village location is small, but the Brooklyn space is larger, and I’ll have to stop by the BK location next time I’m in the area to try more vegan flavors!
