Pig & Khao is a restaurant located on the Lower East Side with Southeast Asian cuisine and focused on Filipino-Thai dishes and flavors. We came in for brunch, where the menu has a few gluten-free options. The menu itself is not too big, so it’s easy to try everything when you’re there with someone or a group of friends!…
The first dish that definitely stood out was the steak and eggs! Grilled flank steak, fried eggs and a spicy issan sauce. We also tried the other gluten-free dishes: longonissa sausage also with egg, the grilled pork jowl, khao soi with rice noodles, green papaya salad, jasmine rice, and the instagram-famous sizzling corned beef hash, with a raw egg, lots of garlic, ginger and thai chili. We also tried their Horchata Iced Coffee and it was delicious! You can order that right after your meal as it is heavy and sweet enough to count as dessert.
Pig and Khao is a very solid option for a gluten-free brunch in the Lower East Side!
