La Brasa seems to be a solely Spanish restaurant at first glance, but it’s so much more than that. Their menu is large without being too overwhelming; the dishes get heartier as you go down the page, according to our server. The menu is designed to allow for sharing, so the small plates are perfect to split between friends. You can order all small plates or a large dish and variety of the smaller dishes — the ability to mix and match gives you a feeling of satisfaction because you can try almost everything on the menu if you come with a larger party of people.

The space itself is beautiful — lots of wood; light and airy while still maintaining some intimacy. The servers were knowledgeable and friendly; there is no gluten-free menu, but they can mark off which items are gluten-free.

We split an albacore tuna aguachile and mussels with tinga, chorizo, and tomato sauce, and ended off with an Asian-inspired confit duck leg and a grilled skirt steak. Each dish was carefully prepared, well made, and flavorful.

If you’re over 21, the cocktails are also amazing!
