East Coast import, The Little Beet Table, brings fresh, vegetable-forward gluten-free cuisine to the Gold Coast. One of Chicagoland’s 100% gluten free restaurants, The Little Beet Table is a welcome addition to Chicago’s dining scene…
The inviting ambience and great tunes make The Little Beet Table a great choice for lunch, dinner or weekend brunch. This gluten-free safe haven is such a treat for any gluten-free eater as there is no question what is safe to eat, you can eat it all!
One standout appetizer was the cauliflower hummus. This dish is topped with popcorn and toasted seeds for a perfect crunch. Grilled bread from Chicago’s best gluten free bakery, Wheat’s End Cafe, is served for dipping. Of the small plates, I enjoyed the crispy pearl rice. Sushi rice is pan fried until crispy for a unique take on fried rice. Don’t skip the fresh farm egg on top! Another recommendation is the black sea bass steamed in parchment paper served with a bed of spaghetti squash and maitake mushrooms. This healthy, wintery dish is light and tasty thus allowing room for my favorite, the cavatelli alla norma. Do not miss this dish of hand-rolled pasta topped with tomatoes, Japanese eggplant and sheep’s milk feta! The cavatelli is cooked just slightly al dente and topped with ample of amount of sauce and cheese. I want to eat this again and again.
My next visit will include some of the delicious looking gluten free desserts including the chocolate chip cookie and tres leches cake – both rare finds for the gluten-free eater and a cocktail. While most liquor may be considered gluten-free, at The Little Beet Table, you can be assured your cocktail, wine and beer is certified gluten-free.
Thank you Little Beet Table for venturing to Chicago for gluten-free eaters to have a safe and tasty meal.
