The shop is known for its menu items that feature creative and healthy spins on traditional classics. Their kale Caesar salad (minus the wheatberries) is one of my favorites of these innovative dishes, imitating the comfort of a Caesar salad with a more modern and health conscious approach. Mendocino has all kinds of sandwiches, gluten free bread, and even better, all are labeled gluten free, vegetarian, and even vegan! Mendocino also allows customers to build their own creations, so even the pickiest of eaters can find something they love. I have eaten every sandwich possible from their extensive menu and have never been disappointed. My sandwich go-tos are the prosciutto and free range roasted chicken, which features a delicious basil pesto vinaigrette and honey roasted almonds for a crunch, on gluten free bread, of course. The Sandwich Study of Heat is a yummy twist on the classic turkey sandwich, and it is especially perfect for those who are daring with spice! I also love Mendocino’s seasonal sandwiches, which feature the freshest ingredients based on the respective time of year!
