Tucked away in the back of a liquor store in the up and coming beach town of Playa Del Rey is a hidden Vietnamese gem, ASAP Phorage, that has caused quite a stir in the LA food scene. You may think, especially because of its location, that ASAP isn’t anything special, but don’t be fooled! ASAP Phorage serves high-quality food with fresh ingredients and bold flavors!…
The new establishment still has a growing menu but for now, the banh-mi sandwiches and pho (noodle soup) are what have people talking. Although the banh-mis are not gluten free, the three pho options are GF, and they are well worth trying. Each pho meal features a generous portion of rice noodles and meat–options including wagyu beef, free range chicken, or vegan–as well as a side of fresh basil, jalepenos, bean sprouts, hoisin sauce and sriracha. For a noodle soup, the pho is surprisingly filling and more than satisfying. The restaurant’s interior is interesting, while the dining room has just one large rustic table. Sit and stay for your meal, or grab your food to go!
It’s easy to overlook this new insider hotspot because of its location, however, despite its low key setting, ASAP Phorage serves outstanding Vietnamese dishes that will have you coming back time and time again. Fun fact: ASAP stands for Asian Sandwiches and Pho 🙂
