As a breakfast enthusiast, I appreciate any restaurant that offers breakfast options all day so as you can imagine, Blossom du Jour automatically won some points with me when I saw that they made an ‘Anytime Breakfast Scramble Wrap.’ That, along with the company’s admirable goal of offering healthy, environmentally conscious, and 100% vegan “alternative fast food options,” had me excited to try go and try the restaurant out. Thankfully, it did not disappoint…
Naturally I decided to try both the ‘Anytime Breakfast Scramble Wrap’ and one of the new breakfast bowls on my visit. However, there are a number of other gluten free wraps, all of which are clearly labeled on the menu. There is definitely a reason this breakfast wrap is offered all day: it is so good you will want to eat it at anytime of day. Admittedly it is not the most photogenic dish, as tofu is the main ingredient, but what it lacks in looks, it certainly makes up for in flavor. The breakfast bowl was essentially the same but without the wrap and served with roasted sweet potatoes (!) and kale. The bowl also comes with vegan bacon, but unfortunately that is not gluten free, so make sure to tell them that you are gluten free when they take your order. Both options were delicious, but I preferred the bowl just because it came with sweet potatoes, one of my favorites! As someone who typically prefers eggs and bacon for breakfast, I have to say that both the tofu wrap and bowl definitely gave them a run for their money in terms of taste and satiety.
While I was too full to try anything else on my first visit, their deserts looked absolutely delicious. Most of them were both raw and gluten free, meaning you can indulge without sacrificing nutrition as they are made with wholesome and natural ingredients. Next time I go in, I look forward to trying out both the deserts and their other gluten free wraps! And with four locations throughout Manhattan, there is sure to be one near you so I definitely recommend stopping in one next time you want a quick, but still healthy, bite to eat.
