I love comfort food… who doesn’t? Omelettes with mounds of hash browns, big slabs of meat with hearty vegetables and potatoes; it’s my dream! Comfort food is especially necessary after a long night out, or following occasions when minimal nobread options are served and I am left with nofood. Bubby’s in TriBeCa epitomizes the classic American brunch, serving thousands of hungry customers across the globe (literally- there is a Bubby’s in Japan!), and providing comfort to all who walk in its doors…
Best known for brunch, Bubby’s menu has your favorite American foods and all of the “breakfast plates” are naturally, or can be made, gluten free. The Bubby’s breakfast, huevos rancheros (served with corn tortillas), smoked organic salmon platter #nobagel, and eggs benedict/eggs Florentine nobread are my favorite gluten free orders. Dishes at Bubby’s are accompanied by your choice of home fries or grits… the grits ARE gluten free! The Bubby’s bakery looks delicious, as do all pancake and french toast options, but unfortunately these are NOT nobread approved and you have to avoid. If you’re not in the mood for (a massive portion of) eggs, I recommend any of the salads; the chicken cobb is my personal favorite. French fries are subject to cross contamination, so if you are sensitive definitely avoid, but if you are not, definitely indulge!
Huge portions and plenty of #nobread approved entrees; yes TriBeCa is far but Bubby’s is totally worth the trip! Especially when your Sunday morning hangover needs nursing. For dinner I recommend the nachos and taco plate which are served with corn tortillas, or the kale/cobb salad if you are in the mood for something healthier.
