When I lived in my sorority house, Chobani yogurt was a staple breakfast item for almost everyone in the house. So as you can imagine, on the rare occasions we were out of stock, our chef was forced to hide from 40 angry girls. I absolutely LOVE breakfast, and yogurt was always one of my favorite breakfast foods. However, when I went gluten free I also went dairy free, and Chobani has been absent from my diet for about 5 and a half years. I could tell then, in 2009, based on how much my friends and I loved Chobani, that the yogurt company was here to stay. When I heard that Chobani opened a store, Chobani SoHo, I wasn’t surprised. The restaurant specializes in Chobani yogurt creations and has become incredibly popular in downtown NYC! Most of the food on Chobani Soho’s menu is gluten free and they even use gluten free granola in their parfait creations! The casual, yet trendy eatery is a must go-to for all dairy eaters out there; I wish I could indulge! …
Chobani Soho serves both savory and sweet yogurt creations using Chobani yogurt and a variety of toppings. My favorite dish is the classic fresh fruit and granola; it is served with seasonal fresh fruit, gluten free granola and clover honey. As for the yogurt creations, I recommend the toasted coconut and pineapple with fresh pineapple, toasted coconut flakes, hazelnuts, and agave, or the more filling peanut butter and jelly yogurt that consists of creamy peanut butter, grapes, concord grape jelly, and roasted peanuts. This yogurt is super popular, and it is an inventive take on the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich. As for the savory creations, I highly recommend the hummus & za’atar and the mango and avocado, both are gluten free if you order them without pita chips! Chobani SoHo is more than just yogurt. In addition to the amazing yogurt creations, Chobani SoHo also has other options such as sandwiches; however, there is no gluten free bread so the NOBREAD crowd has to sit these out.
A casual atmosphere and delicious gluten free yogurt creations; Chobani Soho is an awesome place to go and grab a quick breakfast or light lunch in SoHo. The best part is that all of the yogurt creations come in an adorable glass bowl that you are allowed to keep after your meal! A meal and a gift? I’ll take it!
