The only nobread fear I have BIGGER than looking at a menu and seeing nothing I can order, is seeing nothing I can order ON A DATE. So about a year ago, when I was en route to a date and told to meet at Corkbuzz, Union Square’s new wine bar, I was petrified. Thank you wireless internet; I pulled up the restaurant ASAP and saw this Wine bar served more than just wine and cheese, they have a full bar and cocktail list, as well as great menu…
The wine selection is extensive, so if you are a wine-drinker, you’ll like this place even more than I did. The bar is long and there are several two person counter-spots, and it’s not too loud which is nice. If you order food, I HIGHLY recommend the brussel sprouts and grilled octopus. Recently, I saw Corkbuzz written about on NY Eater as an up and coming brunch spot. After looking at the menu, I think I need to give it a try! Half off champagne and an excellent selection of brunch cocktails, not to mention a selection of egg dishes, omelettes, and salads that look delicious.
At the bottom of Corkbuzz’s menu they exclaim, “Kindly alert the staff of any food allergies”… always nice to see. I hope to come here again soon!
