People always ask me what my favorite restaurants are, and what about a restaurant makes it “a favorite.” There are many components, but four characteristics that ultimately make a restaurant stand out: delicious food, a great scene, outdoor seating, and nobread knowledgeable servers. Insert Crow’s Nest. Located in Montauk, Crow’s Nest is the ultimate summer restaurant. The food is delicious, the cocktails are refreshing, and its scenic view and beach seating attracts Montauk’s finest…
What I love most about Crow’s Nest, even more than the outdoor bar and beach area (which I still can’t stop raving about), is how nobread friendly the menu is! When I asked my waitress which items on the menu contain gluten, I was impressed by her knowledge of the menu and even more impressed at how many gluten free options there were. One by one my waitress went through the menu and pointed out which items contained gluten so I knew EXACTLY what I could and couldn’t order. Better yet, only about four items on the menu contain gluten! So what do I recommend? The local kale salad, fluke crudo, oysters, local beet salad, and the grilled octopus were delicious and we ordered multiple for our table. For mains, the dayboat scallops, organic chicken, and short rib were perfect, and we decided that the short rib was the winning order of the night. It was incredible. The burrata is gluten free when you ask for it nobread, and you should avoid the mezze platter, tagliatelle, and vegetable curry.
The menu is pricey (as are all hampton restaurants) but the food is great and worth the hit to your wallet. Whether you dine indoor at the restaurant, outside on the lawn, or down the hill on the beach, you won’t be disappointed by Crow’s Nest. See you next week! And probably every weekend for the rest of summer…
