If you’re looking for a nice restaurant with outdoor seating for those summer nights, good drinks, cool people, and most importantly, good food, then look no further than Delicatessen on Prince Street. I came here for the first time when I moved to NoHo a few years back, and I have been back countless times since. Delicatessen offers literally whatever you are in the mood for—salads, burgers, fish, apps—you name it. Not only is the food delicious (truffle fries are EXTRA truffley) but the menu has something for everyone and plenty of nobread options…
For my fellow nobread-ers, the menu has a variety of salads, as well as meat and fish dishes, and a list of sides that can be blended into an entree itself. My favorite orders: the kale salad with mushroom, golden raisin, and cashews (great for vegans, too!), the salmon with arugula, tuna nicoise, market vegetable omelette, and any side order: brussels sprouts with pearl onions, haricot verts, and TRUFFLE FRIES. I love restaurants that are known for their fries, and I had been told by several people prior to my first visit that their truffle fries are delicious and impossible to stop eating; I’m happy to say I proved this statement correct. The fries and other sides are cooked in a shared fryer, so if you are sensitive to cross contamination you will have to sit these out. The list of burgers at Delicatessen also looks amazing and burgers are gluten-free when you ask for NOBREAD. Careful, the turkey burger is NOT gluten free! Add in avocado, fried egg, onions, mushrooms, and more to your burger to make it extra filling. Recently, the Deli team added a sushi burger to the menu, and it is incredible! Topped with cheese and sundried tomato, and sandwiched between two buns made out of sushi rice, this burger is 100% gluten-free and a must try!
With plenty of menu options for me to choose from, it’s no wonder Delicatessen has become my neighborhood go-to spot. It’s nobread friendly ANDDD for your bread friends, the mac & cheese will have them satisfied (and stuffed), too!
