For years I have wanted to go to Dimes. But with a location deep in the heart of Chinatown, I’ve always opted for restaurants such as The Butcher’s Daughter and Ruby’s; hotspots serving similar cuisine and which are closer to where I live. Well, I finally had the opportunity to go to Dimes this week when my friend and I were in the mood for an adventure and a healthy meal, and I am SO glad we went. The space is adorable, the food is amazing, and there are plenty of gluten-free options!…
Dimes is most popular for breakfast & brunch, and because I love having breakfast for lunch, this menu is right up my alley. The summer tacos with scrambled eggs are gluten-free when you ask for a corn tortilla, and the eggs any style are gluten-free when you ask for no bread. The breakfast bowls are the most popular order at Dimes, not to mention the most photogenic as well. Plus, the mango, carob, and lavender breakfast bowls are gluten-free! I opted for the lunch menu and went with the quinoa bowl with sweet potato, chickpeas, broccolini, and pea shoots. It was delicious! My concern was that the dish would taste bland, but that wasn’t the case at all! It was flavorful and filling! My friend and I, of course, ordered a side of bacon to accompany our meal, and we were happy we did. The salads at Dimes looked awesome too, and when ordering, I was torn between my quinoa bowl and The Big Salad with delicata squash, concord grapes, Brussels sprouts, and greens. All salads and bowls could be topped with a protein, and all proteins were gluten-free!
Dimes is trendy, has a super cool vibe, and serves great food to top it off. I highly recommend making the trip to Chinatown to check this hotspot out! I hear at night the crowd at Dimes can be quite the scene, and with gluten-free menu options including a Sweet Chili Salmon and Pulled Pork Bowl, I have a feeling I’ll be back down this way in no time.
