I’ve wanted to go to Flower Child ever since I saw the first picture of it on Instagram. Where do I begin?! The ambiance and decor are absolute GOALS. Bright florals (are you shocked??), peace signs, and super cool wall art line the walls, and you will automatically be put in an awesome, chill mood! Upon arriving at the cafe, I was happy to see the huge space was full of people, and the two floors were filled with customers eating and chatting away. Whether you are dining solo, meeting a group of friends, or simply setting up shop to work for the day, you will love your Flower Child experience!…
Now that I’ve raved about the ambiance and vibe, I should probably talk about the food. Flower Child is known for their vegetarian cuisine, and the protein they serve is fresh, high-quality, and sustainable. I was torn between the Skinny Cobb and Vegan Ingredient Salads, and ultimately I went with the Skinny Cobb and topped it with a piece of sustainable salmon. My friend ordered the famous Mother Earth bowl, which is gluten-free when you change the dressing. Both salads were the perfect portion size; not too big, and definitely filling when you top them with protein. If you look on Instagram, the bowl you see in just about every photo is the Mother Earth Bowl. To supplement our meal, my friend and I dove into the sides. There were so many options, it was hard to choose which ones we wanted! We went with the sweet potato and Indian Spiced Cauliflower. Other gluten-free sides include the Sautéed Spinach, Avocado, Sautéed Broccoli, Sweet Corn & Quinoa, ANDDD a gluten-free Mac & Cheese! The whole grain wraps are also super popular at the cafe, and they can be made gluten-free when you ask for GF pita!
The menu at Flower Child is super gluten-friendly, and there is so much more I have to go back and try! The protein scramble and GF pastries at breakfast, Avocado Hummus with Raw Veggies, Grass-Fed Steak, and more! I’ve been waiting for a cool hotspot to arrive in Santa Monica, and I will absolutely be back again soon!
