Anyone who travels to Los Angeles has heard about or has been to The Ivy. It is the quintessential LA establishment and more than just a place to see and be seen. Situated in star-studded Beverly Hills, The Ivy is frequented by countless A-Listers and socialites in search of a delicious meal. The Ivy’s ambiance is unique and resembles a cozy cottage, and its 5-star dishes are worth every cent…
I prefer The Ivy for lunch, mainly because I love their salads, but also because it is the perfect restaurant to hit during your day of LA shopping. If you are lucky you will be seated on the front porch, which is where you can people watch while enjoying your food and the classic sunny California weather. The Ivy is more than willing to accommodate gluten free dining, and on my past trips to the restaurant the staff has been armed with the perfect recommendations. Maybe it’s because they have to deal with demanding celebrities regularly, but regardless, they make it easy to eat gluten free. The Ivy even has a gluten free menu! To start, a great choice is the warm house made soft corn tortillas with fresh guacamole. The tortillas are pure corn and made in-house. I also love the grilled calamari; the calamari is fresh and prepared perfectly with olive oil and lemon. For gluten free mains, my go-to is the grilled fresh vegetable salad, which comes with asparagus, zucchini, corn, avocado, tomatoes, baby lettuce, and scallions. You can add grilled lime chicken, Maine lobster, or shrimp to make it a heartier meal, and I always add the lobster… it’s delicious! The grilled meats at The Ivy aren’t cheap, but they are a good option for the hungriest diners. These dishes come with a choice of a side; the fresh pureed cauliflower is the perfect, healthy option for all those calorie counters out there (or anyone who has a cauliflower obsession like I do!)
If you are on a budget The Ivy may not be the restaurant for you, but if you are looking for a cozy atmosphere and an exciting Los Angeles experience, it’s an awesome choice. It’s no wonder that The Ivy has been around for years, and after several amazing meals at The Ivy, I am confident that I will be back for several more!
