Hotel restaurants aren’t always my favorite- the food is standard American fare and the restaurants are inundated with tourists. Well, LA Chapter absolutely changes this stigma! Not only is the vibe super chic and trendy, but the clientele is … well… really effing cool. To top it off, the food is delicious and VERY NOBREAD-friendly. Located off the lobby of the Ace Hotel Downtown, this spot is perfect for a casual night out complete with perfectly crafted cocktails and amazing NOBREAD food…
To start, you have to order the Little Gem and Duck Rillette salads. Both dishes are light and the perfect way to start your meal. I love brunch and breakfast at any time of day, and LA Chapter serves an all-day breakfast menu! The gluten-free avocado toast topped with poached eggs is a must-try and the pork belly and eggs served on top of asparagus was one of my favorite dishes of the meal! For the carnivores, the burger on gluten-free bread topped with bacon, avocado, and pineapple, is for you! The burger is one of the most popular dishes on the menu, and I understand why. It is also the HUGEST burger I’ve seen in LA! Lastly, whatever you do, you must order the sweet and spicy Brussels sprouts. Dressed in the most amazing sweet + sour sauce and tossed with pecans, these sprouts are pretty awesome. The team at LA Chapter has taken classic American dishes and given them an incredible, flavorful twist and my meal was unexpected and unforgettable. On top of all this, my waitress’s vibrant personality, expert knowledge of the kitchen and menu, and aim to accommodate all of my NOBREAD needs topped off my LA Chapter dining experience. Other NOBREAD-approved orders I recommend: the shishito peppers, steak frites, Albacore salad, and the kale salad. I don’t typically order kale salads at restaurants, BUT the kale salad at LA Chapter is one the of the restaurant’s most popular dishes!
Overall, LA Chapter is definitely a Downtown LA favorite, hitting the trifecta of a great meal experience: delicious food, unique ambience, and knowledgeable, friendly waitstaff. Plus, let’s not forget about the rooftop bar for post-dinner activities…
