The Little Beet, a fast casual restaurant, opened in Midtown West in late 2013 and skyrocketed to popularity. The restaurant was the first to not only offer healthy, fast casual cuisine to Midtown’s business crowd, but to offer cuisine that was 100% gluten free! The success of the restaurant has been incredible, and Chef Franklin Becker, the man behind The Little Beet concept, has taken his quest to provide delicious, gluten free cuisine to the next level. This year Chef Becker opened The Little Beet Table. The Little Beet Table has been praised by all in the gluten free community, and by all in the gluten-full community, too. Featuring a menu of classic American dishes including sandwiches, pizza, fish and poultry, tacos, and more, there is something for everyone at The Little Beet Table, and you are guaranteed to LOVE your experience…

I finally had the opportunity to go to the restaurant for the first time last week, and I indulged in quite the feast. To start, I ordered the fish tacos. The tacos were incredible and filled with wild bass, avocado, cabbage & brussels sprout slaw, charred scallion pebre & radish. Next up was the slow cooked salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and one of the best salmons I’ve had in a while… and we all know I eat a lot of salmon! To round out the meal, I ordered the brussels sprouts and acorn squash. These were the PERFECT sides. The acorn squash is dressed with hazelnuts, acacia honey, and pecorino, but the chef and waiter explained to me that the pecorino used is O.K. for those with dairy intolerances. With so many delicious looking menu options, it was hard to limit how much I could order! I have since been back to the restaurant, and finally had the opportunity to have the gluten-free flatbread! Topped with prosciutto and served on a thin crust, this pizza was awesome. The hanger steak, scallops, shrimp and chickpeas, roasted broccoli, and roasted sweet potato were also amazing and I highly recommend all of them!
The best part about The Little Beet Table is the staff’s awareness of allergies and their dedication to accommodating customers with dining restrictions and sensitivities. When I commented that I had a dairy allergy, my waiter gave me a full run down of which items contained dairy, and explained what could be done to each dish to make it suitable for my diet. The food at The Little Beet Table is amazing and to top it off, the ambiance is adorable, the bar serves gluten free beer and alcoholic beverages, and the staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly. Congrats, Chef Becker, on The Little Beet Table’s current success and incredibly promising future!
