Little Cupcake Bakeshop, located in NoLiTa, is one of the most popular bakeries in New York City, and a favorite amongst my bread-eating friends (I am told their red velvet cupcake is one of the best in New York). I walk by this cute little spot almost daily, but I have never ventured indoors as I’ve always assumed there wouldn’t be anything I could order, and I would leave tortured by my experience. This all changed this weekend when I learned Little Cupcake Bakeshop serves a few gluten free AND vegan specialties!…
So what can you eat? Little Cupcake Bakeshop makes a chocolate chip cookie and chocolate chip brownie bar that are both gluten free AND vegan. They also make a gluten free banana chocolate chip loaf which is great, and the cocoa rice krispy is amazinggg. The flourless chocolate cake looks incredible, too, but it is not dairy free so I resisted my urge to have a bite. Recently, Little Cupcake Bakeshop upped their gluten free game, and they now offer a wide variety of gluten free muffins and vegan muffins. When I heard about the bakery’s revamp, I had to go back and give all GF options a try! I’m happy to announce I had the best gluten free and vegan cheddar scone, and I was lucky enough to stop in the day that they introduced their GF coffee cake, and I’m so glad! I nabbed the last one before they sold out. Huge success!
I admire Little Cupcake Bakeshop for their ability to recognize the growing need and demand for gluten free treats, and for their willingness to change their ways to serve the NOBREAD crowd. There are so many GF treats and I truly appreciate Bakeshop’s effort to accommodate all customers! Thank you Little Cupcake Bakeshop for offering NOBREAD approved treats, and for making my post work-out walk home a little more difficult!
