Little Prince, a french bistro by Chef Matt Conroy, is a new SoHo gem and an absolute must try. Prior to going to Little Prince, I had heard nothing but rave reviews, and after seeing the menu and its location, I knew I needed to try. Not only is the menu at Little Prince naturally very gluten free, but the dishes are original, flavorful, and delicious, and absolutely stand out from neighboring SoHo hotspots…
Upon ordering, I appreciated how well-versed my server was in gluten allergies and how he was able to tell me exactly what was or wasn’t gluten free. To my satisfaction, the only items that are not gluten free are the orders that explicitly use bread (burgers and sandwiches). I highly recommend the ratatouille with roasted zuchini, summer squash, tomato, japanese eggplant, and a poached egg. This may have been the best baked dish I have ever had, AND the ratatouille is served on all menus at all times of day. For brunch, I also recommend the spinach and goat cheese omelette (accompanied by incredible home fries), the steak and eggs, scrambled eggs, seasonal salad, quinoa salad with kale and butternut squash, and a side of the brussels sprouts. The french fries at Little Prince are also incredible and seasoned and salted how I like it… very salty. Only one fryer is used at Little Prince, so although the menu does not have many breaded foods cooked in the fryer, these french fries ARE subject to cross contamination.
One look at the dinner menu and it’s safe to say I will absolutely be back! Quinoa salad with butternut squash, steak frites, scallops, roasted salmon, and the root vegetables all look incredible. Careful- I am told the popular duck cassoulet is not gluten free. Naturally gluten free, cozy, and a menu that begs for me to come back again; I highly recommend Little Prince.
