Luke’s Lobster is an awesome, fast-casual restaurant with two locations in Boston serving – you guessed it – lobster! Lobster rolls are the ideal summer meal, and founder, Luke Holden, was smart enough to capitalize on this hot item and serve it year round. I recently went to Luke’s in Bay Back, but you can find his spot Downtown! Out-of-town readers rejoice– the lobster empire is growing to include locations in Philly, DC, and Maryland. Although you may not think so, Luke’s has recently become extra NOBREAD friendly due to the addition of gluten free buns…
Luke’s offers shrimp, lobster, and crab served cold on a bun with lemon butter and secret spices! Most locations have gluten free buns for two dollars extra, but you are welcome to bring your own bread, too. For those with me in the dairy free crowd, the rolls can be made dairy free if you request no lemon butter. I was a total non-conformist and ordered the shrimp roll, which was delicious and came with a pickle! I know, I need to go back and order lobster next time! The clam chowder is NOBREAD approved and highly recommended. For all the indecisive diners out there, Luke makes ordering easy and serves “Taste of Maine,” which is 1/2 a lobster roll, 1/2 a crab roll, 1/2 a shrimp roll, soda, chips & a pickle. If you’re dining with a group, order the Noah’s Ark! It’s a full lobster roll, crab roll, shrimp roll, two sodas, two chips, and pickles! How awesome is that?
Luke’s is an awesome, GF-friendly spot. It’s casual and fun, and perfect for groups! I’ll definitely be back to tackle the Noah’s Ark and a side of crab claws with my friends. I also think that on my next visit I’ll indulge in the $18 GF lobster roll…
