Michael’s is famous in New York City for its power lunch scene. Celebrity sightings are common, and between the tables of celebs there are tables of women catching up on their fabulous NYC lives and men in suits talking business. I always knew there was a second Michael’s location here in Los Angeles, and when I arrived in beautiful Santa Monica, I was thrilled to see that Michael’s has prime real estate! Nestled near other SM favorites, BOA Steakhouse and The Ivy, Michael’s brings fine dining to the shore…
As with Michael’s NYC, I am amazed at how NOBREAD friendly the cuisine is. To start, I highly recommend any of the salads. The kale salad is a classic, and the Coleman’s little gem salad is the perfect, light choice to kick off your meal. Other favorite NOBREAD apps include the seasonal crudo, and any of the tacos served on lettuce. For a main course, I HIGHLY recommend the salmon. It is delicious and one of my go-to orders at the restaurant. For the carnivores, the 28-day dry aged steak with fries and rack of lamb no gnocchi are excellent options, at well. The food at Michael’s is exquisite, the portions are hearty, the staff is friendly, and you will absolutely have a wonderful dining experience. Lastly, complete your meal with a side of the truffle fries… Michael’s chefs have the gift of making simple dishes such as fries be pretty amazing!
Whether you are a part of the “ladies who lunch” crowd or just looking for your next fine-dining experience, I definitely recommend making your way over to Michael’s. Michael’s serves class and sophistication without the side of snob, and one meal at this NOBREAD friendly establishment will have you wanting to go back in no time.
