There is NOTHING better than a great meal with a great view. If you’re like me and live for cool ambiances, amazing atmospheres, and even more incredible sunsets, then you should eat every meal in Malibu. Moonshadows is a Malibu favorite of mine. The menu notes which items are gluten free, the food is awesome, the scene is great, and you will absolutely have the ultimate Malibu dining experience…
Moonshadows is known for their seafood, and to start, I highly recommend the Mediterranean octopus. Served with cannellini beans and fingerling potatoes, this dish is gluten free and a favorite of mine. The Pan Seared East Coast Scallops are amazing, too, and another delicious starter. For mains, the organic salmon, grilled swordfish, lobster, and California Style Bouillabaisse (nobread) are all amazing. On my most recent trip to the restaurant, my friend and I enjoyed the sunset while sipping on cocktails and splitting the lobster, and the night couldn’t have been more perfect!
Yes Malibu is far, especially if you’re coming from Downtown or the Eastside, but it is 100% worth the trip (and the traffic). Moonshadows is classy yet casual, the food is delicious, and it is perfect for any occasion. Brunch at Moonshadows is supposedly awesome, too, and I believe it! Rock shrimp and scallop omelette… see YOU soon!
