Morgenstern’s Finest Ice Creams arrived on the Lower East Side in May 2014, and has had New Yorkers smitten ever since they first opened their doors. With unique ice cream flavors such as Salted Chocolate and Burnt Honey Vanilla, it’s no wonder why thousands of people across NYC have flocked to the ice cream shop. Better yet, Morgenstern’s has a cool vibe and they serve more than just ice cream, making it the perfect spot to catch up with a friend over a quick treat…
Morgenstern’s has recently become famous for their avocado ice cream toast! Unfortunately, as I expected, there is no gluten free bread at the cafe, so the NOBREAD crowd will have to sit this delicious creation out. I was, however, pleased to learn that all ice cream flavors are gluten free except for the salted caramel pretzel, as there are crushed pretzels mixed in with the ice cream. A the toppings are gluten free too except for the pretzels and honeycomb brittle. Several toppings at the cafe aren’t listed on the website, but I was happy to see all the various toppings at the store; it was obvious as to which were gluten free. When I went to the shop, I opted for the mango/passion fruit sorbet and chocolate sorbet combo. Who would have thought the combo would have mixed together so spectacularly? Then again, chocolate mixes well with just about everything!
Gluten free ice cream, sorbet, toppings and more, Morgenstern’s is delicious and an absolute must try! You’ll have to settle for your deliciousness in a cup or bowl since they don’t have gluten free cones, but regardless, the ice cream is so good that you won’t be missing out! See you again soon, Morgenstern’s! Your close proximity to my apartment might become an issue for me…!
