Mr. Purple opened at Hotel Indigo in late 2015. If you haven’t been to the Lower East Side hotspot yet, you need to go now! Floor to ceiling windows, a full bar, and a POOL – yes, A POOL – all set an amazing ambiance. The restaurant is best described as a lounge, and although it’s only been around for a couple of weeks, it has already been visited by A-List celebrities and has hosted several 5-star events…
The menu at Mr. Purple is best described as lounge-fare. The flatbreads look yummy and are perfect to share with friends, but they are NOT gluten-free. For the carb lovers, however, a gluten-free penne with tomato sauce is on the menu! I went to Mr. Purple for brunch, and I’m happy to announce several brunch dishes are gluten-free, and all salads are gluten-free too (on the kale salad request no farro)! I was torn between the omelette and the Cobb Salad; I went with the Cobb and I’m happy I did! The salad was huge and so filling! I recommend ordering a fruit salad to share with your table as well as the Brussels sprouts! The burger is one of the most popular dishes at Mr. Purple, and it is gluten-free when you ask for NOBREAD! Also, the fries are a must. Unfortunately, they are subject to cross contamination in the fryer, but when I went for brunch I was lucky! We were the first diners of the day, so my french fries had yet to be subject to CC. They were delicious!
The brunch scene was definitely tame, but I hear Mr. Purple is quite the place to be at night and I understand why! The open space is perfect for events, and the rooftop is amazing! I highly recommend checking Mr. Purple out ASAP— I have a good feeling about this one 🙂
