Nanoosh is a fast casual Mediterranean joint with locations in Midtown East, Greenwich Village, and on Upper West Side, and it is SO much more than your typical falafel shop. I’ve been to the restaurant a few times now, and I am always thrilled to see how NOBREAD friendly the restaurant is! They serve amazing salads, soups, wraps, and plates and an amazing NOBREAD approved falafel that is made with quinoa. Plus, the falafels are baked, not fried. Better yet, you won’t miss the traditional pita bread that is typically served with falafels as Nanoosh has GF wraps!…
Nanoosh serves so much more than falafel. To start, I loved the quinoa salad with walnuts, dried cranberries, raisins, and peppers. They have wonderful options for main dishes, too. The farro is not gluten free, but everything else is fair game! Just be sure to sub in the gluten free wrap, which is top-notch. My top picks include the chicken avocado wrap, which has the most amazing greek yogurt and avocado spread. The quinoa mushroom plate is lighter, and served with green tahini and the standard Nanoosh wrap is fully loaded with ground beef, tahini, hummus, mushrooms, and veggies if you are looking for something a bit more filling. My best rec- order the walnut grapefruit dressing; it is gluten free and so unique. To finish off your amazing meal, order a NOBREAD friendly rice pudding. They have two flavors, cinnamon raisin or cardamom and toasted almond. Both are completely organic and yummy!
I highly recommend Nanoosh for a healthy and delicious Mediterranean meal. They have sophisticated flavors that are hard to find at other fast casual restaurants, and it’s amazing how much of their menu is NOBREAD approved! I’ll definitely be back to try their breakfast options. I’m lusting after their greek yogurt cup with fig jam and walnuts!
