Olio a Piu, located in the fabulous West Village, is the place to go if you have a passion for a genuine taste of neapolitan pizza and traditional Italian pasta. This NOBREAD-friendly spot is perfect for those wanting to taste the delicacies of Naples without having to cross the Atlantic to do so! All menus for brunch, lunch and dinner at Olio a Piu offer a variety of gluten-free fixes upon request to share with a fun group of friends!…
For starters, I recommend either (or both!!) the CAPRESE or PRUGNA salad. The CAPRESE’s heirloom tomatoes and burrata were lusciously fresh and smooth with gentle hints of basil. I appreciated that the taste of basil did not take away from the perfection of the primary ingredients. Equally amazing is the PRUGNA, a uniquely flavorful arugula salad with sweet black plums, oranges, mouth watering prosciutto di parma, and savory ricotta. One of a kind and like no other salad I’ve had before, the PRUGNA is my NOBREAD top pick!
For the mains, the premier gluten-free dishes offered at Olio are the brick oven pizzas and pastas. Make sure you ask your waiter to prepare any pizza or pasta gluten-free. My favorite NOBREAD pizza was the REGINELLA, a sensationally crispy thin gluten-free pie with mozzarella di bufala, flavorful cherry tomatoes and perfect amount of basil. Our NOBREAD pasta pick is for those of you who like a spicy kick! I encourage you to order the PENNE AL ASTICE ARRABBIATA. This gluten free pasta comes with a juicy lobster tail, chiles, cherry tomatoes and hints of basil.
Olio offers an italian style garden patio where guests can enjoy people watching. Usually, I’d choose to sit outside, but at Olio I prefer the ambiance inside because for a few hours you can escape to Italy and completely forget that you are in New York! Buon Appetito!
