A true Italian restaurant with a modern twist, Pagani offers delicious Italian and American cuisine, and the restaurant is incredibly gluten-friendly. An extensive pasta list is featured, with a note that gluten free pasta is available for substitution, and the potential for gluten free substitutions is noted throughout the menu. Gluten free pasta plus all of my favorite foods; I rated Pagani nobread APPROVED before I even arrived…
Pagani has prime West Village real estate and is located right off 7th Avenue across from other favorites, Agave and Diablo Royale, as well as several of my favorite bars including Wilfie & Nell and The Windsor. For dinner, EVERYTHING is nobread approved with the exception of the veal meatball appetizer and crostini. To start I recommend the farm poached egg on mushroom and spinach, and the charred octopus. I rarely order salads when I dine out, but the salads at Pagani look absolutely incredible and I almost indulged. My girlfriends and I ordered an apple fennel salad for the table, but I came dangerously close to ordering the delicata squash or grilled artichoke salad for my entree. For mains, seared sea scallops, bronzino, and arctic char were all ordered; I tried some of each and have nothing but great things to say about each dish. Lastly, the sides… the roasted cauliflower and polenta fries are incredible and we had to order multiple for our table.
Pagani is very nobread friendly and there is only a slight risk of cross contamination in the fryers. The waitress I spoke with recommends that although the food isn’t subject to cross contamination, you still tell your server that you are gluten free to ensure that your meal is cooked 100% separately.
The Pagani brunch menu is great, too! An organic omelette plus more egg options including poached eggs on polenta and spinach baked eggs nociabatta are the perfect choices to kick start your day. Pagani serves gluten free pancakes, too! Between these pancakes and a dinner menu that I NEED to try more of, there’s no doubt I will be back soon!
