For years, my roommate and I have ordered takeout from Parm. Delivery is quick, it’s not too expensive, and the food is great. Well after years of takeout, I decided to stop being lazy and go into Parm to check it out for myself. I mean if I like the delivery, I have to love the actual restaurant even more, right? Right. Not only is the food delicious at Parm, the space is adorable and there are plenty of gluten free options on the menu…
Although there is no gluten free pasta or bread offered, there are still plenty of options for the nobread crowd! To start, if you can tolerate dairy, the mozz ball and mozz prosciutto are both gluten free, as are the raw clams and salad options. Don’t fill up! The main courses are huge and will definitely leave you full. For a main course, Parm offers meat and vegetable options on a roll, hero, or as a platter. As I mentioned earlier, there is no gluten free bread, so it is nice to see a “platter” option that caters to people with dietary restrictions. The sausage and peppers, potato and egg, and house roasted turkey platters are 100% gluten free and served with a side salad. Who knew dining Italian could be so easy and healthy?? Chicken francese is also listed as an offering; however, the chicken is dusted in flour. My advice for the chicken francese lovers: tell your server that you are gluten free and the chef will happily prepare your chicken with rice flour. If you’re not full yet, supplement your meal with Parm’s tasty vegetable sides. The pickles, charred broccoli, chick peas, corn, cucumbers, beets, and rabe are all gluten free.
Parm is cute, cozy, and most importantly, tasty. And great news! This Major Food Group spot is growing, so expect more Parm’s soon! Parm is the quintessential NoLiTa restaurant, and I look forward to going back to the restaurant (and for my next delivery) soon.
