Cold pressed juice is building a huge following in the Los Angeles area, and given the city’s focus on all things health & wellness, it’s no surprise that the city is quick to take on the newest health trend. Green juice is sold on every street corner, but Pressed Juicery seems to be doing everything right and has become the to-go to juice spot in LA. Although with nothing on the menu but bottled juices, Pressed has 16 locations in Southern California alone! The locations are small, but they offer a wide variety of more than 25 freshly bottled juices, and the juices have no added sugar or other unknown ingredients…
Pressed Juicery is gluten free and vegan, and all of the juices are pure, cold-pressed fruit and vegetables… nothing else! One of my favorite aspects of this spot is that the staff is happy to let you sample as many of the juice versions as you like. This is especially helpful if you’re doing one of their cleanses, because for each day of the cleanse you choose 6 juices. I chose to do Cleanse 2, which included 2 greens, 2 roots, 2 citrus and 1 “signature blend.” Pressed was very helpful, informing me of everything I needed to know before beginning the cleanse. The juice shop is most popular for their green juices, and they have 6 versions of these alone. My favorite was the Greens 3, which was packed with green vegetables, as well as apple, lemon, and ginger. Another favorite was the “Roots 3,” with beet, apple, lemon and ginger. Roots 3 had an intense, almost spicy, ginger flavor that I loved, but it was definitely meant for the ginger-enthusiast. Citrus 3, a combination of grapefruit and mint, tasted exactly like squeezing a grapefruit straight into your mouth. Pressed also has its “Signature Blends” that add ingredients like nut milk and dates into the mix. The Coconut, Vanilla, and Chocolate were all amazing but the Brazil Nut was by far my favorite. With Brazil nut milk, dates, kale, romaine, sea salt, spinach, and vanilla bean, the drink tasted more like a milkshake than anything!
Pressed Juicery only offers bottled juices, but they definitely excel at what they do. The juices are amazing quality, and taste exactly like they are pressed in-store! For what you are getting, they even have a reasonable price tag, at around $6.50 a bottle or $48.50 for a one day cleanse. I love that LA is jumping on board with the concept of pressed juices; juices are packed with so many nutrients and drinking one makes me feel as though I am doing my body a favor!
