Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza is a great spot to enjoy appetizers, dinner, or drinks with friends when you don’t want to splurge on an expensive meal. I recommend going with a large group as they have something for everyone, plus, who doesn’t love a restaurant that has a gluten free menu to help out the NOBREAD crowd? With huge salads and delicious GF pizzas, I can see Sammy’s becoming my go-to for dinner before a movie or with family on a weeknight outing…
Sammy’s makes it easy to order gluten free, as their menu notes offerings such as gluten free pasta and pizza crust. Every wood-fired pizza can be made GF, as well as vegan with dairy-free cheese. The GF pizza crust is amazing; it’s thin, but not cracker-like, and I found myself completely forgetting that the crust didn’t have gluten. The pizza was definitely one of the best GF pizzas I’ve ever had! Pizza flavors included classics like Margherita and Pesto, or more unique renditions such as the delicious Pear and Arugula Pizza with prosciutto, gorgonzola, and balsamic glaze. The Vegetarian pizza with roasted bell pepper and eggplant is my favorite selection, and I always make it vegan. I’m also a fan of the HUGE salads offered at Sammy’s. Seemingly simple, the Original Chopped Chicken Salad is one of my favorite salads. The vegetables and chicken are chopped extremely fine so that you get all of the delicious flavors and ingredients in one bite. If you are at the restaurant to celebrate an occasion, I highly recommend treating your table to Sammy’s signature “Messy Sundae.” The dessert consists of a huge, chocolate & caramel coated, glass stuffed with Vanilla ice cream, walnuts, and whipped cream!
I’m a huge fan of Sammy’s because not only is it easy to eat gluten-free, but it’s also a restaurant that anyone can enjoy. They have an amazing gluten-free pizza crust that is definitely worth trying, and from a full bar to a full kids menu, Sammy’s is super accommodating and perfect for any type of diner!
