Snaps & Rye, a cosy Scandinavian restaurant nestled in Notting Hill serves delicious Danish inspired breakfast, lunch and dinner. Owner, Jacqueline Skött, hosted us for brunch and we had an amazing experience. Even though a lot of the menu is focused around the Danish love for Rye and licorice, much of the menu can be made NOBREAD friendly….
We tried the scrambled eggs (Clarence Court) with House-Cured Var Salmon and a side salad. Both were made gluten-free by leaving out the Rye bread. The eggs were creamy and the smoked salmon was fresh and absolutely delicious! The side salad was a light and refreshing addition to breakfast. We also had the Kedgeree, which has a bit of a cult following at Snaps & Rye and I can understand why! A fragrant combination of rice, smoked haddock, cured salmon, tomato, and spinach with a soft boiled egg on top made this the quintessential brunch dish!
You can taste that the food is made in house and that all food is super fresh. The restaurant serves sustainable and seasonal produce, which we love to see at NOBREAD. Snaps + Rye is a must try! I look forward to exploring their 4 course dinner menu – which changes weekly!
Editor Note** Due to an increase in demand for gluten-free bread, they’re now looking into different gluten-free bread options to serve alongside their Danish cuisine. They haven’t found one they’re 100% happy with yet but it’s coming soon, and I know I will be first to book a sitting when they do.
